Carol "Granny" Hice, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2025. She was born on June 23, 1942, and lived a life full of faith, family, and love.
Carol was a graduate of Rossville High School and a devoted member of The Refuge Church of God. Her greatest joy was praising the Lord and sharing His love with everyone around her. She had a kind spirit that made everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
She enjoyed journaling, word searches, playing Scrabble, and talking with her family. Carol also loved playing games on the computer, especially Solitaire, and spending time sitting outside, taking in the beauty of God's creation.
Above all, she loved her grandchildren. Carol's life was defined by her deep love for Jesus, her family, and the people around her. She loved life and loved to love people, leaving a legacy of faith and kindness that will live on in those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and I.V. Taylor; brothers, Raymond Taylor, James Taylor, and Clarence Taylor; daughter, Cynthia Spates; grandson, Shane Phillips; and friend, Luther Spates.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tim Ross; sisters, Violet Gray, Shirley Morris, Brenda Henson, and Ruby Thomas; brother, Roy Gene Taylor; son, Jimmy Stanley; grandchildren, Brandon Spates, Ranee Spates, and Donielle Lowery; great-grandchildren, Shelby Spates, Khloe Miller, Kelsey Lowe, Schiley Folks, and Hannah Rae.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, and on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m. at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, South Crest Chapel, 833 Chickamauga Ave.,
Rossville, Georgia.
A service will follow at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2025, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Calvary Gardens.
