Patrick Benton, 81, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. Born on May 23, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, Patrick lived a life full of service, laughter, and devotion to those he cherished.

Patrick proudly served as a D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer, a career that gave him countless stories-many of which he loved to share with his trademark humor and wit. After retiring, he settled first in Hendersonville, North Carolina with his wife Linda, where he built a life filled with faith, family, and fellowship. He recently moved to Ooltewah, TN to be closer to his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A man deeply committed to his faith; Patrick was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for his warm smile, generosity, good-natured spirit, and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Benton, his daughter, Colleen Benton, his twin brother Mark Benton, and his son-in-law Joel Mullican. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Mullican; his grandchildren, Jordan (Brian) Rand and Alex Mullican, his great grandchildren Lily Rand, and Xander Rand, his brother John (Sharon) Benton, Sister-in-law Judy Benton and nieces Kate (Ben) Beyer and Christian Evans. His legacy lives on in each of them, in the laughter he inspired and the values he instilled.

Visitation for Patrick will take place at 10:00 am on September 19th at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Lee Highway, Chattanooga with funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
