Ramon Rivera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - West Military Dr. on Feb. 3, 2026.
Ramon Agusto Rivera, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was called to his eternal home on January 30, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 3, 1947, in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, Ramon lived a full life characterized by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a commitment to his faith. His passing, resulting from complications of dementia and heart disease, has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Ramon was the beloved husband of Blanca Rosa Rivera and a guiding light to his sons, Ramon Agusto Rivera Jr. and Daniel Rivera. His legacy of love and leadership will live on through his grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, Cassandra, Luke, and Rylie Rivera. Ramon's familial bonds were further strengthened by the support and camaraderie of his siblings, Cesar Rivera, Noelia Villarreal, Elsy LaBoy, and Gloria Macias, as well as his sister-in-law, Emma Rivera, brother-in-law, Richard Macias, and daughters-in-law, Violet Rivera and Kimberly Cardenas.

In his youth, Ramon pursued higher education and honed his skills in Business Administration at Palo Alto College. His dedication to his country was evident through his valiant service as a Combat Medic in the Vietnam War and his continued commitment as a member of the Air National Guard. Ramon's work ethic and spirit of service extended into his civilian life at Kelly Air Force Base, where he performed with distinction. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Northwest Cleaning Services, a testament to his hard work and business acumen.

Ramon's love for his family was paralleled by his dedication to his fellow servicemen and women. As a Commander and Life Member of the American Legion - Post 579, and a Life Member and Officer at VFW Post #9174, he exemplified the camaraderie and brotherhood that is the hallmark of military service. Ramon's generosity extended to all aspects of his life, and his door was always open to friends and strangers alike.

Fishing and family vacationing were among Ramon's favorite pastimes, providing him countless hours of joy and relaxation. He was a loving and handy individual, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was often found helping others before tending to his own needs.

As we bid farewell to Ramon Agusto Rivera, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, service, and faith. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his unwavering generosity, and his readiness to serve. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit of love and devotion will continue to guide and comfort us until we meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." - Matthew 25:21

Ramon's life was a beautiful reflection of this scripture, and we are all the richer for having known him. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
