Ramón "Raymond" Speller, 61, of Rochester, NY, passed away on November 19, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Ray lived his life working with his hands and his heart. He worked in construction and was known for his ability to build and fix almost anything. He was also equally as talented in the kitchen and worked in restaurants where he enjoyed making meals for others. Ray had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke and to laugh loudly and often. He was incredibly resourceful and had a strong desire to help people. Whatever he had, he was willing to share with someone in need.
He came from a large family for whom he cared deeply, and despite the challenges he faced, he always made an effort to stay connected to them.
One of the greatest joys and achievements of his life was raising his daughter, who was a constant source of love and support. He is survived by his father, Ramón Díaz; his mother, Ernestine Condo; his beloved daughter, Andrea Speller; his siblings; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He was deeply loved and will be missed. No formal services will be held at this time.
In celebration of Raymond’s life, the family welcomes memorial donations to: Hearts for the Homeless, Salvation Army, or House of Mercy.
