Ermine Speller Obituary

Ermine graduated from Lafayette High School and proudly served his country by joining the United States Air Force. He dedicated 20 honorable years to military service, retiring with distinction. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a Communications Computer Systems Operations Craftsman. His commitment and excellence earned him numerous awards, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military career, Ermine continued his education at Westchester Community College, where he earned a degree in Information Systems Technology.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ermine was a man of many passions. He loved long bike rides, competitive sports like basketball and football, and indulged in video games with the joy of a true enthusiast. He was known for his strong principles, always doing things "by the book" and took immense pride in his family, his friends, and his service.
Ermine had a unique way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether it was his unforgettable catchphrases, clever nicknames, or bold personality, he made sure you never forgot that HE IS FROM BROOKLYN! He gave wise advice, spoke his truth, and was a source of laughter and lightto so many.
Preceding in death is his loving mother, Shirley (Bond) Speller. Ermine leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. Cherishing his memory are his former wife, Antoniette Speller; his children: ShaReen, Ermine III, Taliah, and Charde; grandchildren: Devante, Renaye, Deshaun, Christian, Zania, Shelton III, Tyrell, Jacob, Nyima, Tamiyah, Terrell III, Micah, and Phoenix; and great-grandchildren: Noah, Noel, and Londyn, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Also surviving him are his father, Ermine Speller Sr.; siblings: Gwendolyn, Anthony (Marisa), Deirdre, Cheryl, and Kim (Michael); his best childhood friend and honorary brother, Joseph Broxton.
Ermine Speller Jr. was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed and will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
