Ramona Bencosme

Ramona Bencosme, loving mother and grandmother, entered into rest on December 21, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh with her family by her side. She was 89 years old.
Ramona was born on August 28, 1934 in Cabrera, Santo Domingo the daughter of the late Eduardo Hilario and Ana Rosa Bencosme. Ramona had worked as an office attendant at the Pan Am Building in New York City.
Ramona loved gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed singing and listening to Julio Iglesias. She adored the family dog, Mochi. She also loved to cook for her family. She loved her phone calls with all of her friends.
Ramona is survived by her children, Victor M. Mejia and his wife, Enilda, Cesar E. Bencosme and his wife, Tara and Daisy DeJesus and her husband, Alavell; her grandchildren, Christian, Sasha and Emily Mejia, Omar Bencosme, Kiara, Shania and Anaya DeJesus.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, December 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 26 at 10 a.m. at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, 174-208 West Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
