Ramona (Rosa Cartegena) Gonzalez, 73, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at UMass Hospital, from injuries she received in a car accident.
Ramona is survived by her six children, Miguel Santiago and his wife Wanda, Angel Santiago and his wife Maria, Fernando Ramos and his wife Maria, Maria Francisco and her husband Joel, José Ramos and his fiancé Santa, and Luz Ramos and her husband Lazaro; her husband, Hugo Campos; three brothers, Luis Alfredo Rosa, Carlos Rosa, and José Rosa; two sisters, Josefa Rosa, and Carmen Delia Rosa; twenty-two grandchildren, Luz, Suheyla, Christian, Miguelito, Ricardo,
Luis, Amaryllis, Juan, Marielys, Adamaris, Jose, Luis, Jalissa, Jacob, Madeline, Kayshla, Jennifer, Danny, Anibal, Jonathan, Leonardo, and Emily; many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by three grandchildren, Luis, Edgardo, and Marcos and by three siblings, Leocadio Rosa, Margarita Rosa, and Miguel Rosa. Ramona was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico and is the daughter of Leocadio Rosa and Dominga Rosa.
Ramona was a loving mother and enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, June 25, from 4 pm to 8 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A graveside service will be on Thursday, June 26, at 11 am at Hope Cemetery, section 118.
