A Celebration of Life Service for Ramona D. Karber age 88 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Crosspoint Church with Rev. Asher Griffin officiating. A private family burial will precede in the Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Ramona was born September 8, 1936 in Garden City, KS to Ted and Linda (Brandt) Friesen. When she was 14 years old, her mother died of breast cancer. Her father married Ruth Adrian 2 years later and Ruth adopted the 5 children in this family. Two boys were born into the family after father's remarriage. Ramona is the oldest of 5 brothers and 1 sister, and passed away March 4, 2025 at her home. They lived on the farm at Garden City during the summer months and lived in Buhler, KS during the winter. She and her siblings attended Central Christian High School in Hutchinson, KS.
Ramona attended Tabor College for 2 years and then moved to Denver, CO. She met Eugene Karber at a church she was attending and recognized him as attending Tabor at the same time as her. Eugene and Ramona were married June 29, 1957 and moved back to Garden City. Eugene was transferred to Enid in 1976 and this has been her home.
Ramona worked at the OSU Extension Center and retired in 1999 after 20 years. Eugene passed away November 28, 2011. Ramona's hobbies include reading, playing cards, watching Thunder Basketball doing puzzles and traveling.
Ramona is survived by; one son Keith Karber and his wife Jonnie of Enid, one daughter Cheryl Wolfe and her husband Galen of Guthrie; grandchildren Shona Helterbrake, Stacia Paul, Shaye and Dr. Todd Reilly, Skye Weber and her husband Cory, Chase Karber and his wife Sara, Andra Wilkerson and her husband Matt, Kala Williams and her husband Kyle, Dillan Wolfe; and 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her siblings; Wes and Arlene Friesen, Gil and Rhoda Friesen, Edna Janzen, Roger Friesen and Patti, Monty and Sharon Friesen, Randy and Sue Friesen and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Roger Janzen and sister-in-law Arlene.
Memorials may be made to Tabor College with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
