Ramona R. (Saunders) Richer of Matthews, NC, originally from Liverpool, NY, passed away on February 14, 2025. She was born on September 15, 1948, in Trenton, NJ, to William and Mary Saunders. Growing up, she moved frequently between Baldwinsville, NY, Daytona Beach, and Tupelo, MS.
Ramona met her husband, Raymond H. Richer, while working as a programmer at GE. She was proud of her work and often spoke about it, but she retired to have a family. Ramona resided in Liverpool, NY, for most of her adult life, where she raised her family. She was active in parent-teacher groups, organizing events and scouting.
Ramona was a creative soul who loved music, drawing, and crafting. She started a crafting business, Felix's Fancy, named after her husband's finicky personality. In 2014, she moved to North Carolina and, although she could not continue craft shows, she made hats to donate to veterans.
Ramona is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Richer; her parents, William and Mary Saunders, and her sister, Kelly Norem.
She is survived by her son, Raymond A. Richer; her daughter, Renee Richer; her son, Daniel Richer and his wife, Rhonda; her sister, Twila Johnson and her husband, Carl; her granddaughter, Danielle Richer; her nieces, Shannon and Angela and their families.
Family and friends may call from 12 pm to 2 pm Saturday at the Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd, Syracuse, with a memorial service to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ramona's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
