Randal Parker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Austin/Round Rock on Jan. 1, 2026.
Randal James Parker, known affectionately to all as "Randy," passed away peacefully in Round Rock, Texas of Multiple Myeloma Cancer. Born on January 27, 1953, in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Coleman and Louise (LaMontagne) Parker, Randy's life was defined by his dedication to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, unique wit, fabulous sense of humor and a love story for the ages.
At the young age of 14, Randy met Nancy Lynn, the love of his life. What began as a high school romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership when they married in 1973. Together In 1978, Randy & Nancy founded "197 Inc," a lawn and garden equipment store, in Essex Junction, Vermont, that Randy grew to become the number 1 Toro dealership in the country. After 30 years, and the addition of twin grandchildren in Austin, Texas, Randy and Nancy successfully sold the business in 2008, and followed their heartstrings to Texas to be near family. Randy's entrepreneurial spirit led him to a second career with New York Life Insurance Company, where he specialized in Long Term Care Insurance until his well-earned retirement in 2024. While with New York Life, in Austin, Texas he was nationally recognized as a top agent in his field.
Randy was a man who took pride in his business and work, but his greatest pride and his purpose for hard work was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy (Lynn) Parker; his son, Benjamin Parker, daughter in law Kimberly Parker, and grandchildren Griffin, Emerson, and Oliver Parker; and his daughter, Abbey Parker White, her husband Patrick, and their daughter Eliza. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Rusty and John Forgues of Addison, VT, and his twin sister, Sandra Parker Paquette (Gary) of Morrisville, Vermont as well as beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Louise and his younger sister, Carrie Ann Parker Poulin. Randy's legacy lives on in the strangers he turned into friends and the family he loved so dearly.

Randy and I attended school for a number of years together from elementary through high school. I remember his voice and chuckle when I think of him. Please accept my condolences for your loss.
