Princeton - Randall "Randy" Dean Anthony, 76, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2025, at OSF Streator, surrounded by love and memories of a life well lived.
Randy was born on March 22, 1949, in Princeton, Illinois, to Fred Jacob Anthony and Marjorie Luella (Wilson) Anthony. He grew up with strong family roots and deep Midwestern values, graduating from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1967 and later earning his degree from Blackhawk East College in 1969.
Randy's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Anthony of Portugal and Randa Salinas Anthony of Peru, IL, who carry forward his quiet strength and compassionate spirit. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Thomas (Cass) Samuels of Wyanet, Anika Mead, Keaton Mead, Grant Mead, Colton Anthony, Lincoln Anthony, and Vivienne Anthony, all of Peru, IL; and great-grandchildren Elise and Rowan Samuels of Wyanet, who brought him endless pride and delight.
He is also survived by his brothers Fred L. Anthony of Bushnell, IL, and Warren (Jody) Anthony of Galva, IL; nephews Nathan (Jennifer) Anthony of LeClaire, IA, and Aaron Anthony of Bettendorf, IA; and great-nieces Madison and Quinn Anthony.
Randy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his sister-in-law Karma Anthony, his nephew Joseph Anthony, and his cherished grandson, Francis James Anthony.
Those who knew Randy will remember him for his gentle heart, his deep love of family, and his thoughtful presence. Though he was a man of few words, his wisdom, wit, and warmth made a lasting impact on those around him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Randy's name to the LaSalle County Chapter of The National Organization for Women, 628 Putnam St., Peru, IL 61354-a cause that reflected his enduring belief in equality and human dignity.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial will be held at a later date.
