LACONIA - Randall Scott Loring, 68, got his wings on Jan. 30, 2025, passing away suddenly at Concord Hospital ER in Laconia from natural causes.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1956, the son of Allen R. Loring and Patricia A. Loring. He was the middle child of three boys and spent his entire young years in Laconia on Beaman Street. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1976. Randy had a love for sports from a young age, playing baseball, football, basketball and skiing. Later in life, he enjoyed watching his favorite sports on TV, both at home and at the Rod & Gun Club, where he was also an excellent pool player.
His true passion in life was music - all kinds. He played drums in the Lakes Region-Aires Drum and Bugle Corps starting at age 12, but the alto saxophone was his true forte. Growing up, Randy played in many bands, including Mr. Mister and the Kan Tu Blues Band. He loved playing alongside his brother, Bret Loring, an accomplished drummer. He also had the opportunity to tour with his brother as part of the famous band, The Ink Spots.
Randy worked construction most of his life but in early 2000, he assisted his brother, Bret, and his sister-in-law, Krista, with their nightclub and restaurant business at Weirs Beach, The Paradise Beach Club. There he was happy to help out in whatever capacity was needed. He was a very hard worker. He was quite the history buff - if anyone asked about a historical general or where a war was fought, Randy would know the answer.
Randy was a gentle soul. As a Christian, he was compassionate and empathetic, always willing to help others. He had many friends and would give the shirt off his back to a perfect stranger. On Sundays he attended services led by Captain Chris, whom he held in high regard. Those at the Carey House looked out for Randy, providing him with much support and comfort, for which we are very thankful. There he developed many lifelong, close friendships.
Randy is predeceased by his father, Allen R. Loring; his mother, Patricia A. Loring; and his oldest brother, Chip Loring.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Salvation Army at give.salvationarmyusa.org/give/164006.
At this time, there will be no services or calling hours. The family is planning a celebration of life in the spring.

Please accept my condolences. Randy was a kind and thoughtful man. He played the saxophone beautifully, and his love of music and happy times with family and friends was evident. I sincerely offer my prayers for the repose of his soul.
