A Celebration of Life for Rande L. Isenberg, age 73, of Fairmont, MN will be August 1, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Military Honors will be held outside the funeral home at 3:30 p.m., provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Burial will be held at a later date at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church Cemetery in East Chain, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family to use at their discretion, or flowers are to be sent in Rande's memory to the local nursing homes. Rande passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family asks that if possible, all men that plan on attending to please wear shorts. If you knew Rande you'll know why. He wore shorts 365 days a year. He didn't care what the weather was like, he was in shorts.
Rande Lee Isenberg was born on July 27, 1950, in Fairmont, MN, the son of Gerald and Slyvia (Anderson) Isenberg. He attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1969. Following his graduation, Rande enlisted in the United States Navy with the Marines as a Corp Man. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Rande returned home to Minnesota.
On March 15, 1975, Rande was united in marriage to Alice Meixell at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church in East Chain, MN. The couple made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with a son, Benjamin.
Rande worked for J. G. Vanderiet prior to working for the City of Fairmont where he worked his way up to Supervisor of the Street and Park Departments. Family was very important to Rande, and he cherished spending time with them, especially days spent shooting trap with his grandson, Maddox. Rande was proud of his service to his country and was a proud member of the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post #36.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Alice Isenberg; son, Benjamin Isenberg; grandchildren, Isaac, Mason, Ethan, Maddox, Kestra, and Avaya; brothers, Ted (Carroll Barnes) Isenberg and Larry (Cindy) Isenberg; sisters-in-law, Trina Brown (Mick) and Carrie Hall (Tony); brothers-in-law, Michael Meixell (Dixie), Martin Meixell (Kathy), Matthew Meixell (Elizabeth), and Byron Brown (Sandy); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rande was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Sylvia Isenberg; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Darlene and Roger Isenberg; and several aunts and uncles.

Rande was my very first friend, lived around the corner from me. We traveled the block and up and down the alley on our trikes, such freedom Then Gary joined us, 3 musketeers. Such good memories. My condolences to his family. Peace be with you.
