Randi E. Vogel

Randi Elaine Vogel, 51, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Paget, Bermuda to Dorothy Sattlethight LaPlante and Richard LaMark, Sr. After graduating from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1996 with a degree in Political Science, Randi began her career as a pharmaceutical sales representative with Eli Lilly. Although she excelled professionally, her greatest passion was nurturing children and caring for animals. In 2000, she married the love of her life, John David "JD" Vogel, and together they built a legacy of learning, wonder, and community as the owners of Hunt Club Farm.
Through the creation of a petting farm, children's garden, summer camp, tree walk adventure, and countless other programs, Randi devoted herself to making meaningful connections between children and animals and poured her heart into every project she undertook. Her most recent endeavor, a breeding program for miniature Highland cows, reflected her lifelong dedication to animal care and children's education. Over the past 25 years, she has touched the lives of thousands of families. Her impact on the Virginia Beach community is immeasurable, and her presence will be profoundly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, John "JD" Vogel; her sons, Nick Vogel and Taylor Vogel; her mother, Dorothy LaPlante; her sister, Samantha LaPlante; her brother, Richard LaMark; extended family members, many treasured friends, and all her beloved animals.
