Randolph Dwight Baker, Sr., 68 yrs old fought a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, and went to his eternal reward on Thursday Sept. 12.
Randy, as he was known to his family and many friends, was predeceased by his parents, Joan Dodd Baker and Edmund Lee Baker, brother, Edmund Frank Baker(Buddy, Sr.) and nephew, Edmund Frank Baker, Jr(Little Buddy, Jr.
He is survived by his soulmate, wife and caretaker, April D. Baker, of the home; his son, Randolph Dwight Baker, Jr (JR) of South Carolina. He has a brother, Howard Dodd Baker and a sister, Lisa Baker Robinson both of Chocowinity, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Pearl Crichton and husband Herbert of Va Beach, Va. Many nieces and nephews and cousins that love him dearly. He attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church as long as his health allowed.
Services for Randy will be Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 2100 E. 5th St, Greenville NC. Visitation will be at 1pm with services to follow at 2pm. Interment will be at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery on Hwy 33 west of Chocowinity.
Randy spent his life as owner/operator of J. D. Baker Concrete in Norfolk/ Virginia Beach area, a family company where he made many friends.
