Randolph James Doubt (Age 84)
Randolph J. Doubt was born November 9, 1938 in Seattle, WA, spent his early years with his grandparents there, and then moved in with his mother and step-father and their growing family.
Randolph attended Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy, graduating in 1963, and spent seven years as a Deck Officer in the Merchant Marine sailing in various cargo ships and literally seeing the world.
He then served as a senior civilian at the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office in the Office of Navigation, while living in Shady Side, Maryland. He was very handy, usually fixing things -- cars, boats, the house -- himself instead of calling in experts.
Randolph had a great sense of humor and kept his friends in all of his worlds laughing, or sometimes groaning, at his wit.
He spent the past year in assisted living, but was pretty spry until a massive stroke felled him on August 19, 2023.
Randolph loved the water -- sailing, power boating. SCUBA diving, and kayaking. As he wished, a small celebration of his life will be held aboard a boat, with his ashes scattered at sea.
He is survived by four brothers, a sister, and a "significant other."
