Randy Coon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boldt Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Jan. 13, 2025.
Randy E. Coon, age 68 of Waterville, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Allina Medical Center, Faribault after a lengthy hospital stay surrounded by family.
Memorial services will be held at River Valley Church, Faribault on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 3 p.m. with memorial visitation at church for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Randy Edward, the son of Thomas and Ellen (Nikl) Coon was born November 3, 1956 in Faribault. Growing up, Randy had a natural talent for baseball and even considered a career in sports. Following graduation from Waterville Elysian High School he ventured out on a few different career paths until he truly found his calling as a correctional officer. Through years of hard work, he was proud to retire as a sergeant. Shortly after retirement, he met a new neighbor that would soon become not only his best friend but Mrs. Coon. They were inseparable, and it was longly anticipated when they finally tied the knot in August 2023. Randy enjoyed a life of quality time with his honey (Crystal) and their four fur babies (Pepper, Willie, Rosebud, and last and secretly, his favorite Pebbles), hosting holidays, cookouts for friends and family, and attending all his grandkids (10) school programs. Randy was not only a hard-working, kind, caring, funny soul but a fighter, as we saw through the crash of 2022 and the years to follow. He continued to show up whenever he could, even if it meant just always being a phone call away for anyone he cared for. Randy was a huge part of the foundation of his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal; daughter, Emily Coon; stepdaughters, Kayla Dalbec, Ashley (Marcel) Lofton, and Vandala Dalbec; ten grandchildren; siblings, Rochelle (Roger) Miller and Dallas Toffelson; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bertha Morsching and Mary Ellen Schultz; brother, Alvin Coon, and nephew Joe.
