Randy Richard Thomas Ferrero, 71, of Lacon, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center of Peoria with his daughters by his side. Randy was the youngest son of Frank and Donna (Snyder) Ferrero, born on August 25, 1951 in Pontiac, Illinois.
He retired from Caterpillar as an assembler, where he co-founded the Caterpillar Employee Motorsports Club (CEMC), enjoyed playing practical jokes, and captured the day-to-day adventures of factory life in his cartoons.
Randy was a talented drummer and began playing in bands as a teenager, including The Roadrunners, Stormy Monday, and Just Us. He instilled his passion for music and pride in his Italian American heritage in his daughters. He was a storyteller and animal lover and traveled the country on his motorcycle.
Randy is survived by his dog, Pearl; daughters Brooke Ferrero of Peoria, Illinois and Brittney Ferrero of Peoria, Illinois; and brothers Tony (Flossie) Ferrero of Roanoke, Illinois and Michael (Ruby) Ferrero of Washington, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois.
Randy was a Gift of Life donor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The A.R.K. in Lacon, Illinois. Online tributes and condolences may be made at www.cumerfordclary.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Randy's passing. I played in the "Just Us" band with him. He was a great drummer and singer. He was a nice person.

I´m so sad to hear about my Old Friend Randy. I played in the band Stormy Monday with him and his Brother Mike. We had some great times together. Randy was a good drummer and had a great singing voice. We separated years ago and the last few years I´ve been try find him and Mike. Now I hear he has passed. I am very saddened by this. Remembering our friendship and good times together.
