Randy Everett “Puff” “Bulldog” Gamble, 68, accomplished beer drinker, determined hunter, and suave dancer passed away peacefully at his home on Bridge Street in Morrisville on February 4th with his loved ones by his side.

Randy was born at Kirby Memorial Hospital in St. Albans on December 6, 1955, the last of four sons of John and Mildred (Kennison) Gamble. He spent his earliest years at the farmhouse in Bakersfield on what is now Gambler Road where he remembered having to use an outhouse. When the family moved to a new home with indoor plumbing in North Hyde Park, he would recall it feeling like moving into a mansion.

He served the United States Army for three years, during which time he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in O’ahu, Hawaii. His military time was very difficult, with weekends partying on the beaches of Waikiki, attending concerts, and seeing the sites of Maui. He also spent some of his service time helping Vietnamese refugees in Guam for which the Army honored him with a Certificate of Achievement.

Randy worked for Lamoille Grain Co. (now Guy’s Farm and Yard) for 25 years until his retirement. He most enjoyed delivering bulk grain to local farmers for many of those years. Following his retirement, he remained good friends with the store’s owner, Sam.

He had a passion for hunting deer and loved spending time with friends and family at “The Ponderosa” camp in Woodbury, especially during deer season.

He is survived by his children, Jacky (Anthony) Davis, and Levi Gamble, grandchildren, Sierra and Tyler Graves, great-grandchild, Maverick Greene, and a brother, Ronald (Elizabeth) Gamble. He is also survived by his nephew and niece, Tim and Brenda Hall, great nephew, Mikey (Jenny) Buchanan (and dog, Diesel), and many more nephews and nieces.

He is joining his parents, John and Millie, two brothers, Roy and James “Jimmy,” and a niece, Maria on the other side, wherever that may be (for his sake, we hope they have beer).

Graveside service will take place at Jedediah Hyde Cemetery on May 11, 2024 at 11am along with an ash-spreading service at the Ponderosa, Randy’s favorite spot during these past few years of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Lamoille Home Health and Hospice. A special thank you to Martha for all you did for Randy this past year.
