Randy Ray Guthrie age 69, of Chickamauga, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Saturday – May 11, 2024. Randy was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late James Eldridge and Katherine Judy Stoker Guthrie. Randy retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he worked as a locomotive engineer for over forty years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen Union. He had been a longtime member of New Prospect Baptist Church and for the past several years attended Antioch Baptist Church. Randy had enjoyed rodeoing, hunting, fishing, raising cattle and harvesting hay for many years. Randy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed many things, but valued his family most of all. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years: Rita Faye Hise Guthrie of Chickamauga, GA, sons: Matthew Ray (Jamie Marie) of LaFayette, GA, Joshua Heath (Linda Nicole) Guthrie of Chickamauga, GA, grandchildren: Kirsten, Nickolas, Stran and Katie Beth Guthrie, sisters: Judy (Gary "Butch") Spurling of Portland, TN, Sandra Pierce of Chickamauga, GA, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ronald "Runt" and Reba Hise, brother-in-law: Steve (Stacy) Hise, sister-in-law: Katie Hise all of Chickamauga, GA, brother-in-law: Mark (Melissa) Hise of Rock Spring, GA, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday after 11:00 am until the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm – Friday – May 17, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Pastors: Steve Wells and Ronnie Millican officiating. Burial will follow in Coulter Cemetery – Chickamauga, Georgia. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes – Chickamauga Chapel. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com
