Randy Alan Hopping, 60, of Ellisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 1:53 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on May 17, 1965, in Rushville, Illinois, to James R. Hopping and Peggy J. Clayton. He married Ann Elaine Sullivan on July 16, 1993, in Bushnell, and she survives.

Also surviving are his mother and stepfather , Peggy and Mike Howell of Bushnell; and father, Lindal (Mary) Paul of Ellisville; stepchildren, Betsy (Jeff) Rench of Bushnell; Ronnie (Erin) Featherlin of Ellisville; six grandchildren, Riley and Hadley Powell, and Jace, Joel, Josie, and Reid Featherlin; and four step-siblings, Jessica (Tyler) Blood of Chatham, Rachel Howell of Macomb, Michael S. Howell of Pekin, and Matthew (Kara) Kauffman of Lafayette, Indiana.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, James R. Hopping; his paternal grandparents, Ruth and Howard Hopping; and his maternal grandparents, Delbert and Sylvia Clayton.

A 1983 graduate of Valley High School, Randy later attended Spoon River College, where he studied auto mechanics. A true outdoorsman, he had a passion for fishing and hunting. He was also a talented woodworker who took pride in creating special pieces for family and friends.

Randy was deeply devoted to his family. He loved Ann with his whole heart and found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren-whether playing, attending their school events, or cheering them on in their activities.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bushnell VFW.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bushnell Swimming Pool or to the Fairview Fire Protection District.
