Randy Lee Ickes, 63, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at his home in Harrisburg, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 20th, 1962 in
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Frances (Mohn) and the late Edward Ickes.
A graduate of Central Dauphin High School, Class of 1980, Randy pursued a career that matched his passion-working with his hands. He spent many fulfilling years at Heim, where he specialized in winding electric motors, a trade he took great pride in.
Randy met the love of his life, Holly, in Millersburg. The two were married on March 15, 2013, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Outside of work, Randy was happiest in the great outdoors. He loved camping and took particular joy in family vacations to Ocean City, Maryland. The pier, the fishing, and long walks on the boardwalk brought him peace and happiness-his ultimate happy place. He was also an avid fan of football and NASCAR, never missing a race or game when he could help it.
Randy will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, and the way he found joy in the everyday.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Holly (Abdon) Ickes; children, Steven Gardner, Mariah Ickes, Jarred Augenstein, and Mitchell Ickes; mother, Frances Ickes; sister, Wendy Bower and brother-in-law, Clayton Bower; grandchildren, Aubrey Wiegman, Noah Gardner, Farrah Gardner, and Rowan Ickes; and nephew, Kyle Bower.
Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lucas.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM, officiated by Bishop Michael Scalzi. A graveside service will be held immediately after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
