I WOULD LIKE TO LET THE JONES FAMILY KNOW THAT THEY ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS DAILY. BRANDY YOU KNOW "I LOVE YA" AND CALL ME IF YOU NEED ANYTHING.
RANDY WAS MY LITTLE BROTHER THAT I DID NOT HAVE. I KNEW HIM SINCE HE WAS ABOUT SEVEN YRS OLD. I LOST TOUCH WITH HIM FOR A FEW YEARS UNTIL HE JOINED IREDELL COUNTY RESCUE WHERE I WAS ALREADY A MEMBER. RANDY WAS A UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL WHERE HE TOOK TIME TO LISTEN AND HELP ANYONE HE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH. RANDY I MISS YOU DEARLY AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU. I KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE AND THAT WHEN MY TIME ON EARTH IS OVER THAT YOU WILL BE THERE AT HEAVEN'S GATE WAITING TO MEET ME. I LOVE YOU RANDY AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN HEAVEN.

I rememeber when i joined the Rescue Squad in October of 1999, i too was 14 as Randy was when he joined. Randy never would let you feel like an outsider he would lift your spirits with that awesome smile and twinkle in his eye. He was a dedicated EMT and loved the calls we responded too no matter how bad. When i got the news i felt as if someone knocked the wind out of me. Randy was an older brother to me, i could count on him if i needed to talk as anyone could. Randy was very dependable and loved everywhere. When we buried him, i felt as if someone took part of my heart which will never be filled until we meet again. The radio just does not sound right w/o "ECOM 1117 is 10-23 assuming scene command" I love you Randy Jones

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Randy. As a paramedic in Iredell Co., I was able to observe and admire the compassion which Randy displayed on calls I had the opportunity to work with him on. He will be deeply missed by the entire EMS Family. God Bless You Randy, and Thank You!

Dear Jones family,
There is so much that I could say about Randy, but I will keep this short and sweet. I have known Randy since his freshman year in high school and I invited him to be my prom date in 1997. I was Mandy Marsh then. But I am so sorry for what has happened. It broke my heart beacuse I found out at a later time and date about what had happened. Again I am sorry. If there is anything that I could do, please let me know (704) 872-0447. Or email me @ [email protected]
Sincerly,
Mandy Stratmann

I can't stop thinking about what has happened. But I wanted to add that Randy saved so many lives when he was here, and I believe he is still saving lives. I know this has made many realize that you never know when your time will come, and to find salvation. Can you imagine how many have been touched? Randy, you are special to many people in many ways!May God Bless everyone.

To Randy's Family & Friends,
I've known Randy for atleast 6 years. I am just another person that calls him a friend, and I am sure there are many. He was a wonderful person, someone who could always bring the best out of any situation. A person who always offered a smile and a helping hand no matter what the problem was or the danger that was involved. He touched the lives of many including myself. This great loss has influenced me to become a better person and to be more kind to all who cross my path. Though what happened is hard to understand, I feel in my heart that he has a greater purpose, that he was needed for something bigger and beyond our understanding. Randy Jones will always be missed and loved. It is still hard for me to deal with this loss, I can't even begin to imagine your pain. All I can say to you is how devastated I am because of what happened.
You all are in our thoughts.

Pat,
We've been friends for over 30 years and all your kids know Adam as well and we can't think of a thing to say to you all that will ease your pain. I guess the only thing we can offer is this........if any of you need anything - and we mean anything, please call us. You are all in our daily thoughts and prayers and are here for you when you need us.
We love you all,

Randy was a wonderful young man and a hero to many. I watched him grow from a young boy to a young man in just a few short years. As a volunteer with Iredell Rescue, I worked with Randy many times. He taught me so much about rescue, fire, and life in general, but most important, Randy has taught me the value of friendship. Though we worked together through fire and rescue, we were friends and I can remember many times when we'd sit out in the parking lot of the squad and just talk about our lives. He was truly a great friend and will be dearly missed.
I saw Randy just 2 weeks before the accident. We spoke briefly and his distinct smile and picking had my 3 year old son Noah grinning from ear to ear. I'm thankful that Noah had the opportunity to meet and know such a fine man, and thankful that I did as well. When I heard of Randy's death, all I could think of was seeing him just weeks ago and wishing I'd have told him then just how much he had affected my life in a positive way. Not having the chance to tell him that saddens me, but maybe it can bring some peace to your hearts just knowing how many hearts and lives Randy touched.
To Brandy & Scott,
I know the loss is very hard for you as it is for many. I remember many times we spent just hanging out, laughing, smiling, or whatever. Not only was Randy a great friend, but the 2 of you have been as well. Not a day has passed that I haven't thought of yall and now, not a day will pass that I won't remember the smile Randy wore or the kindness and love that he shared with so many. My heart goes out to both of you and your family. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.
With Love,

Jones Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I new Randy through the Iredell County Communications Center and as a fellow brother in the fire service. On a daily basis at ECOM we could always count on 250 or 1117 to check enroute or on the scene of a emergency call. It is always great to know that someone is out there to help those in need. The emergency services has lost a great person this week. I lost a fire chief three years ago that was like a father to me. I guess Bosco now has an Asst. Chief in Heaven to look down on the rest of us. I will miss talking to you on the radio, but I know that you are in a better place and that one day we will see each other again......"ECOM 1117 is enroute home....1117 10-4."

To my Lieutentant 250: Words cannot discribe how much you will be missed. I met you several years ago, and I wish we had been able to spend even more time together as friends, not just as firefighters. I want you to know that Iredell Co. will never have another person with so much love for other people. I just wish I could see you on one more call so I could hear "fire control 250." You will now be on every call ever dispached in Iredell Co. from now on, becuase you are in the heart of every firefighter and every rescue tech. outhere.

Pat,
Randy was one of my best friends and so much more. When you live with someone for a year, you learn so much about them. I, learned how great a man Randy was. He taught me alot about life, and through his experiences with God it brought me alot closer. I feel empty now, but I now he is in a better place looking down upon us. He touched so many lives while he was hear. He saved so many. He past that gift on to a lucky few of us. The world has lost a great one. To me he was a friend, room mate, brother and a hero. Randy will be missed greatly. I can hear him now:
1117 10-24 enroute home.

A Fallen Hero
The Fire trucks cried silently
though wanting to make a grieving sound
As they passed underneath the flag
Hung from the ladder trucks in town
With their mourning badges on
And mournful tears in their eyes
Fellow fireman and policeman
Stand in salute to say good-bye
The procession passes through
as people stand beside the road
paying their last respects
to one of their fallen heros
The dispatcher sadly sends
out one final solemn tone
announcing that firefighter Jones
has finally went home
In honor of Randy Neal Jones

Randy, you will be missed dearly. As a coworker for almost 5 years I watched you grow up from a young boy into a man. You dedicated your life to serving others and I could not be prouder to have known you. To the family, Randy was an incredible person. I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for him. He put others before himself and left this earth doing that very service that he loved so much. God has just brought home one our finest heroes.
