Randy William Jones

Randy W. Jones, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away at his home in Sophia, North Carolina on June 19, 2025. He was a man whose love for his family and faith in the Lord left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Born and raised in Hillsborough, North Carolina, Randy was the oldest of four children and took great pride in being a guiding light to his two younger brothers and sister. With a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication, Randy built and ran a successful grading company in his hometown, working tirelessly to provide for his loved ones.
Randy was deeply cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. He was also lovingly survived by his mother and father, whose values helped shape the man he became.
He never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ. Whether through a conversation at a job site or a chat in the grocery store, he made it his mission to tell others about the hope and grace he found in his Savior.
Randy also had a deep love for travel and was always ready for a new adventure. Whether it was a spontaneous weekend trip or a family vacation, he found joy in exploring new places and creating memories with those he loved most.
Randy is survived by his parents, Richard and Thelma Jones; wife, Sherry Jones; son, Christopher W. Jones and wife Christy; step-daughters, Jessica Purdy and husband Kenneth, Laurren Bowman and husband Robby; grandchildren, Ryder W. Jones, Davis A. Jones; step-grandchildren, Cameron Eller, Carmen Purdy, William Bowman, Walker Bowman, Lillian Bowman; brothers, Steve Jones and wife Tabby, Gary Jones and wife Beverly; and sister, Lori Rominger and husband David.
Randy's legacy is one of love, hard work, and unwavering faith. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his impact lives on in the lives he touched and the family he treasured.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held at Wayside Baptist Church on Friday, June 27th at 3 pm, where friends and family will gather to honor the remarkable man he was. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 pm at the church.
