Randy Lee Klock was born March 5, 1949 to Marvin and Marian (Janssen) Klock. His siblings include Sandra Lienemann, Pam Minor, Cheryl Metzger, and Kevin Klock.
Randy attended Taylor #2 Rural School until it closed in 1960. He then attended Emery School, graduating in 1967. He joined the Air National Guard of South Dakota in August 1967 and served through March 1973. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Emery. He was baptized and accepted the lord as his savior at age 13. Right out of high school, Randy purchased land in Hanson County near Emery, where he raised hogs, cattle, and grain crops. After his farm sale, he purchased the homestead from his parents, where he established Red Barn Woodworking in 1994.
Randy married Fay Hoffman on June 2, 1973. They had three children, Leslie, Jarod, and Jessica.
On May 28, 1988 he married Judy Crandall. She had two children, Kristi and Ryan.
Randy enjoyed his years of building furniture with Red Barn until he retired. He enjoyed traveling with Judy on the bus tour business, going out West to shoot prairie dogs, and the many auctions and garage sales where he was always getting a good deal. He bought a small bus and drove the Amish. He always drove the backroads everywhere he went. He enjoyed his horses, belted cattle, and raising Border Collies and Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies. He loved being a grandpa, spending time with his grandkids, family, and his many friends. He never knew a stranger. He always had a sweet tooth and loved a glass of ice-cold milk.
He is survived by Judy, his wife of 36 years; children: Leslie (Kyle) Hiatt of Bennington, NE, Kristi Crandall of LaCrosse, WI, Jarod (Angie) Klock of Mt Vernon, SD, Ryan Crandall of Brashear, MO, and Jessica Nielsen of Red Deer Alberta Canada; grandchildren: Gavin, Alexis, and Chase Hiatt, Avery Gipson, Noah, Leah, Anna, Rachel, and Josh Klock, Bailee and Charlee Crandall, Jenna, Josiah, and Julia Nielsen; great-grandchild, Addison; siblings, Sandra (Mike) Lieneman of Lake City FL, Pam (Randy) Minor of Sioux Falls, SD, and Cheryl (Joe) Metzger of Lake City, FL; and nieces, Hannah Mathison, Elani Dirksen, Lizzie Hernandez, and Emily Kolstad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Marian Klock, and his brother, Kevin Klock.
