Randal "Randy" Eugene Major, 62, of Asheboro, died Sunday, December 21, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. , with Dr. Rob Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
Randy was born on September 24, 1963, in Randolph County, NC. He was a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School and attended NC State University. He was working at Dixie Furniture where he met the love of his, Teresa. Later he went to work at Lowe's Hardware where he stayed for over 30 years. His decline in health led to his retirement but he still enjoyed being around people by serving as a notary. Randy was a very intelligent person, especially when it came to math. He also enjoyed joking with everyone. Football was one of his favorite things to watch, even more so if NC State or the Washington Commanders were playing. Randy loved his pets. Some say even more than his family. When he received a prosthetic leg his cat, "Teddy Bear," constantly kept him company.
Randy was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his father, Boyce McKay Major, Sr. and his brothers, Greg Major and Boyce Major, Jr..
Surviving are his wife, Teresa Major of the home; daughter, Christina Major (Kyle Cochran) of Asheboro; mother, Ann H. King (Milton) of Asheboro; brother, David Major (Felicia) of Trinity; niece, Sheria Dixon (Miles); and nephew, Matt Major (Sarah).
The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.
