Randy Stogdill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iowa Cremation - Cedar Rapids on Feb. 9, 2026.
Randy Gale Stogdill, 75, passed away on February 8th at his home in Crawfordsville after a battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday February 28th at the United Church of Crawfordsville, with lunch and fellowship to follow. A general memorial has been established.

Randy was born on February 4th, 1951, in Washington, Iowa to Nolan and Cathalene (Taylor) Stogdill. After graduating from Winfield High School in 1969, Randy began working for Wendell Wilson Contractors, and eventually for his classmate Barry Ross at Winfield Contractors, where he worked as a foreman until his retirement. In retirement, he kept busy helping out at CML Farms, CND Farms, and with Kerry and Neil Davis.

Randy and his wife, Peg, were together for 21 years before they married in 2007. Together, they enjoyed many outdoor activities. Their fishing and camping adventures took them across the USA. He farmed and raised cattle for many years. Randy was an avid hunter and had many dogs throughout his life - most recently a mischievous black lab named Sam. Searching for Native American artifacts was a lifelong hobby.

Randy is survived by his wife, Peg, and two stepchildren: Kelly (Brian) Robertson, and Kris Griffith (Angie Eckrich).

He was deeply adored by his granddaughters: Ashley Robertson (John Horesowsky), Emily (Andrew) Brock, and Abbey (Kyle) Gillian, as well as his three great granddaughters: Kynlee and Sutton Gillian, and Wren Horesowsky.

He will be greatly missed by his siblings: Henrietta Stogdill (Chan Williams), Kenny (Loree) Stogdill, Rodney (Rita) Stogdill, Carl (Denise) Stogdill, Phyllis (Doug) Love and Coleen Milder; his brothers-in-law Butch (Carol) Johnson and Lyle (Vicky) Johnson, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nolan and Cathalene Stogdill, mother-in-law Lucille Solomon, sister-in-law Janice Ryan, and brother-in-law, Tim Milder.
