Randy William Swilley, age 66, of Purvis, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025. Born on February 7, 1959, Randy was a man whose life was characterized by hard work, devotion to family, and a love for the outdoors.
Randy spent his career working in the oilfield, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix almost anything. His colleagues respected him for his dedication and resourcefulness, and he formed many lasting friendships throughout his years of service. Randy's hands-on skills and problem-solving abilities were not only an asset in his professional life but also in his personal life, where he was always ready to lend a hand.
Randy's greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Ray Swilley, his mother, Ada Elizabeth Barding, and his brother, Gene Swilley. He is survived by his loving wife, Reva Swilley; brother, Ray Swilley; his sister, Ann Prine; his cherished son, Ryan(Caitlin) Swilley; his beloved daughter, Jessica(AJ) Johnson; and his adored grandchildren, Kaiden Clouatre, Madalynn Swilley, Raylan Swilley, and Ada Grace Swilley. Each of them was a beacon of happiness in his life. Randy also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
An avid outdoorsman, Randy found peace in the rhythms of nature, whether he was hunting in the quiet woods or fishing in the tranquil waters. His love for these activities was only surpassed by the time he spent with his grandchildren, whom he taught not only the joys of outdoor life but also the values of kindness, perseverance, and love.
Randy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless things he fixed with his skilled hands. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told by those who loved him. He was a man of integrity, humor, and immense heart, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As Randy is laid to rest, his spirit will continue to guide and watch over his family, much like the steadfast lighthouse guides ships in the night. His was a life well-lived, and his impact will endure for generations to come.
