Northfield, MN - Randy Toepper, age 71, of Northfield passed away at Three Links Care Center on 1/18/25 after an long struggle with dementia. Randy would prefer, however, to be remembered for his zest for life, shown thru his love of family, sports, and the great outdoors. Randy was born on June 16, 1953, to Orville and Delores (Heyer) Toepper, in St. Paul Minnesota. Randy met his wife, Pamela Bongers in 1991, when they joined their lives and enjoyed 34 years together. Randy graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School in 1972 And from St. Paul Vocational Technical School in 1974, as a Carpenter. He started his own business, Toepper Construction, and ran this business for many years. He went to work for the State of Minnesota as a Carpenter and retired from there after 23 years. Randy loved Softball/Baseball, Hunting and golf, pretty much in that order. Some of his fondest memories were playing baseball with his father-in-law, and softball with his brothers and the neighborhood guys. The best years, however, were spent playing golf with his wife, Pam, at the LeSueur Country Club. One of his favorite places to travel was the Gunflint Trail in northern MN - because of the beauty and because it brought back many fond memories of his fishing and hunting with his dad and brothers. Randy is survived by his wife, Pamela, and four children, Michael (Angela) Beckius, Jennifer (Philip) DeBilzen, Shanon (Nathan) Zambon, and Nathan (Emily) Badenschier; and eight grandchildren, Payton, Hudson, Lucy, Gillian, Claire, Grace, Julia and Elise. He is also survived by two brothers, Mark (Colleen) Toepper, Tracy (Pam) Toepper, one sister, Wendy (Dennis) Lujan; Brother and Sisters In Laws Jim Bongers, Ron (Pam) Bongers, Lorie (Mark) Nelson, Cindy (Derald) Mitchell, Terry Bongers, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Delores Toepper, brother Doug Toepper, and sister Wanda Toepper, sister-in-law Maureen Bongers and Mother and Father In Law Patricia and Donald Bongers. Funeral Services for Randy will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 23 at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with visitation for one hour prior to the service from 10-11AM.
