Randy E. Wilt

Randy Eugene Wilt was born in Washington Courthouse on April 11, 1958. He passed away too soon on October 4, 2024, in Washington Court House, at the age of 66. He was the loving husband to Audrey L. (Hawdon) Wilt and father to Jandi M. (Wilt) Dean.
He resided for all his life in the quaint little Village of Sabina. Starting off on Florence Ave where is parents, the late Emma Lee (Damron) Wilt and William Howard Wilt raised him and his siblings: Dennis, Gail, Jonda, Carl and Kenny Damron(deceased).
A happy and energetic child, he spent his past-time riding bicycles, skinning knees, fishing, camping and hunting. He attended Sabina Elementary School then went on to graduate from East Clinton "Go Astros!" In his adult life, he continued to keep track of all the games played over the years and supported his Alma mater by attending many games while his daughter played in the Marching Band.
Once out of high school and ready to join the work force, Randy went to work for a short time at the modular home factory. Then swiftly thereafter started work at Mac Tool of Sabina aka Stanley Tools. He devoted his work history to this factory, up until just shy of 34 years when the company closed and moved to another state. After 2 years of searching, he found a new career working as a Quality Control Inspector at New Sabina Industries, and worked there for 10 years until sudden illness this February had forced his retirement a bit earlier than expected.
During these years he had many hobbies and activities that made him happy and he enjoyed the life he lived. These included Amateur radio - N8WRW and GMRS - WQYT375, Demolition Derby, fishing, hunting small game and camping with friends and family. His wife got him hooked on Karaoke and he loved to entertain his friends with his versions of songs especially "The Winner!" Some of his favorites songs to sing were: Skip A Rope, Saginaw Michigan, Coward of the County, Crystal Chandeliers, Paper Rosie, Country Bumpkin, Farewell Party, The Gambler and The Rose (duet with Audrey).He was a traditional country fan and met a few country stars over the years. Randy spent his last few years tinkering around with radio equipment and working on plans for better reception from his home on Dakin Chapel Road.
He loved horses, dogs, cats and children - especially babies. Never to be a grandfather, he chose to give his affections to those from other lucky parents. With a smile and a hug, he'd tell them in jest "I'm gonna steal you!"
He was one of those people who would give their all and never wish any pain or suffering. Randy was known, laughingly, to his friends as 'Hairbear' or 'Bear'. Always with a smile, a funny redneck joke or old sayings that would make you roll your eyes or snort your drink through your nose. (Finer than a frogs hair split 3 ways) What a card! He was a funny man and a downright good man, who always said that "no one is perfect 'cept the Lord up above, just do your best and be happy."
He was preceded in death by his parents and will be laid to rest alongside his companion and mother of his child, Susan M.(Sally) Langley at Clinton Memorial Gardens in Wilmington.
He leaves behind a wife - who lost the love of her life and best friend, she will miss him more than words could ever express. "So long Country Bumpkin the frost is gone now from the pumpkins. I've seen some alike, but man you were something. I'm glad I found you my Country Bumpkin."
He will be forever missed by his family, daughter, Jandi (Nick) Dean; step-son Carlisle (CJ) White; brothers and sisters: Dennis W. Wilt, Gail J. (Ed) Ellars, Jonda S. Wilt, Carl (Elaine) Wilt; best friend, Kevin Berner, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10-11am. A graveside service will follow at Clinton Memory Garden.
