Raul R. “Bully” Garza, Jr.
December 26, 1956 – November 9, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Raul R. “Bully” Garza Jr., who departed this life on November 9, 2025. Raul was born on December 26, 1956, and his spirit touched the hearts of many.
A proud graduate of Nixon High School, class of 1975, Raul continued to serve his country by enlisting in the Marine Corps, where he honorably served until his discharge on August 8, 1979. His commendable work ethic led him to a successful career in retail for over 40 years.
Raul was a passionate supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros, and he shared his love for sports with those around him. He will be remembered not only for his love of the game but also for his warm spirit, kindness, and commitment to his family. He enjoyed traveling with his family where they made countless memories together that will always be treasured.
Raul is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raul Garza and Manuela "Nena" Garza, as well as his father-in-law, John W. Stiller Jr., and brother-in-law, John W. Stiller III.
Mr. Garza is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Patricia S. Garza; their cherished children, Leah (Brandon) Burke and Raul "BJ" Garza III; his sisters, Cindy Giddens and Lisa Michelle (Henry) Miller; his mother-in-law, Celia Stiller, his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Adrian) Galarza, Katherine Giddens-Clark, Lauren Giddens, Andrew Miller and Brian Miller; his great nephew, Thomas Richard Clark, as well as other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 9 a.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, November 21, 2025 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery Veterans Section.
Military Honors will be presented by the United States Marine Corps and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be: Raul “BJ” Garza III, Brandon Burke, Gilbert Rodriguez, Pedro Bustamante, Henry Miller, Andrew Miller and Brian Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Stiller IV, Sergio Garcia and Ernest Giddens.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice in Sugar Land, Texas, and the HomeInstead from the Veterans Affairs.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to ALS research and the Periwinkle Foundation.
