Raul "Roy" Ybarra Perez, 77, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on July 7, 1948, in Natalia, Texas, to Antonio Perez and Maria Ybarra.
Raul was a devoted partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. A baker by day and a talented drummer and recording artist by night, he lived a life defined by love, rhythm, and quiet strength. His hands shaped more than just bread and pastries, they shaped memories, traditions, and moments of comfort. The beat of his drums may have faded, but the rhythm of his love and legacy will echo for generations.
He is survived by his beloved life companion of 38 years, Carmen Herrera; and his four daughters: Dora, Patricia, JoAnn, and Stephanie. Roy's legacy lives on through his many grandchildren: Kirstie, Desiree, Aaliyah, Phenix, Bianca, Oscar, Darren, Tyra, Michael, Marina, Catarina, Vincent Jr., Vincent Xavier, and Vincent laasic. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his siblings, and his grandson, Vernon.
All services will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels and Cemetery 1700 S.E. Military Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78214. Visitation will be held on October 2, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.
