Raul C. Sauceda, born December 2, 1944, passed away on February 6, 2026. Raul, known to many as Rudy, attended Fox Tech High School and graduated in 1963. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served three years in a clinic on a small Army installation in Wertheim, Germany. Although he separated from the Army in 1966, he later returned to the Army by enlisting in the Texas Army National Guard where he became active duty as an Active Guard Reserve. He served in the guard, first in administration and then as a recruiter until his retirement. He then accepted a position with San Antonio Independent School District as a Jr. ROTC instructor, first at Edison High School and then Fox Tech High School. He retired again, this time from SAISD.

During his youth he was involved with several community civic organizations including: Barrios Unidos, Mexican American Unity Council, and Mexican American Neighborhood Civic Organization.

Rudy married Rosalyn, Lyn, Paulson and they were blessed with three children: David (Yolanda) Sauceda, Elisa (Roland) Fuentes and Jason Sauceda. The family grew with the addition of four grandchildren: Meagan Sauceda (Cody Littrell), Johnathon Sauceda, Samuel Fuentes and Sarah Fuentes and two great-grandchildren: Madisyn Littrell and Dylan Littrell.

Rudy enjoyed photography, classic movies, coffee, ice cream and popcorn. He was an avid Star Wars fan and collector.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Blas V. and Petra Sauceda and his brother Jesus Sauceda. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Guadalupe (David) Torres and Rosemary Sauceda and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the following for their caring compassion and loving support: Dr. Neela Patel and her staff at University Geriatric and Palliative Care, Claudia Costescu and her staff at Just Like Home Assisted Living and the team at Heart of Texas Hospice.
