Mary Alice Cadena Morris age 87 of San Antonio entered into Heaven on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was born September 12, 1938 in San Antonio to Elena Perez Martinez who preceded her in death. She graduated from Providence High School, Class of 1956. She obtained a Teacher Certification from Our Lady of the Lake University and later attended Western Illinois University in Bilingual Bicultural Studies.

She is survived by her Spouse, Gary V. Morris; her Son, Brian A. Morris; her Grandchildren, Olive Morris and Eliot Morris; her Brother, Hector Muniz, Sr. and his Wife, Joann; her Nephews, Niece and their Families, Hector Muniz, Jr. and his Wife, Denise and their Family, Christopher Muniz and his Family and Kristel and Felix Dominguez and their Family.

Mrs. Morris was a member of St. Brigid's Catholic Church since 1982 where she served in the Society of Guadalupanos, was a Religious Education Instruction Team Member, a Eucharistic Minister to Nursing Homes and was a member of the Small Group Faith Worship. She was also a Brownie Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America.

She was employed in the Edgewood ISD as an Early Childhood Educator for thirty years, having taught most of those years as a bilingual teacher at H.K. Williams Elementary School.

SERVICES

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Road. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, 6907 Kitchener. A Reception will follow at the Church. The Procession will depart the Church at 1:30 P.M. for the Graveside Service at 2:15 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Mary Alice was a strong supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital and a supporter of cancer charities; in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to these organizations.
