Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ravola Joy Whittle, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on April 28, 2025.
She was born to Walter and Zella LuDean Wimmer on May 17, 1930. She was the seventh of nine children.
On May 29, 1948, she married Earl Cleo Whittle. They are the parents of six children, 2 boys Deon and Dave and 4 girls Yvonne, Karalee, Rhonda and Mary. Mom was a wonderful mother. Her life was defined by her love for her family, her unwavering faith and willingness to help those in need. She loved serving in her many church callings.
Mom was never afraid of hard work at home or in the workplace. She made friends everywhere she went. She was a cherished friend to everyone she knew over the years.
Mom loved camping, fishing, rock hounding and gardening. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved being out in nature. She canned fruits and vegetables for her family and others to enjoy.
Mom loved music. She loved singing and taught herself to play the accordion. All of her family and friends enjoyed hearing her play the accordion and sing.
Mom was proud to be a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She loved her pioneer heritage. She enjoyed learning about her ancestors and where they came from.
In her later years she found joy in making quilts for her family and friends. She even made quilts for the kids at Primary Children’s Hospital. Her beautiful quilts are cherished by all those that received one.
Mom is described as an amazing, wonderful hardworking, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and friend.
We all love her so much and will greatly miss her joyful, happy, sweet spirit. You’ve finally Graduated Mom!
She is survived by her children, Yvonne Gettler, Deon (Melanie) Whittle, Dave (Lisa) Whittle, Karalee Cook, and Mary Hall; she was a loving grandmother to her 26 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
After 21 years, mom is reunited with her beloved husband, Earl; also her daughter, Rhonda Page; her parents; 4 brothers and 4 sisters; one grandchild, Joshua; and 2 great grandchildren, Anthony and McKenna.
Funeral service, Monday, May 5, 2025, 1:00 p.m., Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street) in Castle Dale where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment, Ferron City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fausett Mortuaries where family and friends are always welcome and may share memories and view the livestream of the service online at www.fausettmortuary.com,
