Ray Mack Alford was born December 31, 1942 in Greene County, Ms. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 81.

Ray retired after 38 years at Syngenta, originally Stauffer Chemical. He loved his church family and served as a deacon at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He was a kind, family loving, hardworking, problem solving, Christian man who never met a stranger. He could build almost anything, repair almost anything and was constantly sought out for his advice and guidance.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Alford and his two sons, Chad (Karen) Alford of Mobile, AL and Reece (Elizabeth) Alford of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Mack and Ian Singley, Thomas, Anna, and Nicholas Alford and Will, Charlotte, and Edith Alford. His brother Jerry (Freda) Alford, and his sisters Shirley (William) Newburn, Cathy (Brad) Hearn, Nona (Mickey) Platt, Patsy (Steve) Kendrick, and Brenda Burke. Preceding him in death is his mother Helen Winterburn, father Ervin Alford, daughter Rae Lynn Singley (Lark), sister Donnie Lanier, and brother William E. "Sonny" Alford, Jr.

Visitation will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Cottage Hill Baptist Church chapel, with a funeral service following at 11 am. Internment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
