Ray Blighton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Viegut Funeral Home on Jan. 5, 2026.
Ray passed away at his home in Loveland, CO on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 80 years of age.

He was born in Ruthven, Iowa, and graduated from Ruthven High School and was drafted by the US Army. After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Fort Collins, CO, where he managed T and T Tire for 20 years. After it closed, he went to work for Mountain N Plains Property Management where he was still employed.

Ray was an honest, hardworking, hard playing man. He loved to tease, if he liked you, he would always tease you. He would rather repair than buy new and had the knowledge and ability to do that.

His most favorite thing to do was spend the day in the mountains, snowmobiling with his friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Ray enjoyed spending time with his significant other, Margaret and his other love, his newfoundland dog, Maggie. He will be missed.

Ray is survived by his significant other, Margaret Gadley, a sister Linda Larson (Todd) in WI, sister-in-law Carolyn Blighton (Robert) CT, nephew Andrew MA, niece Christal NY, nephew Scott (Allie) CT, and a great niece and great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Ernest, two brothers Robert and Joe. A niece Melissa Freeman and a nephew Brian Jacobsen.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The loss of this dear friend has rocked my world. Ray was my go to guy for any work or fix-ups I needed around the house. Always so helpful. Monday afternoons with Ray was a given and we both looked forward to every one. We miss you Ray Dean. You were so good to all of us. RIP dear friend. Love and miss you.
