Funeral services for Mr. Ray L. Capps, age 85, will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, in the Hunt Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with Bro. Roger Utter officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Capps, a retired farmer, was born in Greenfield, TN, on August 1, 1938, and passed away on October 18, 2023, at Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden, TN. Mr. Capps proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from January of 1962 until December 1963, where he served in Berlin, Germany. For many years, he served as an Elder at Pleasant View Church of Christ at Skullbone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hulon Ray and Nova Lynn Pounds Capps and one brother, Robert Capps.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Capps of Greenfield; one daughter, Lou Ann Capps of Greenfield; one sister, Theresa Capps of Greenfield; one nephew, Steve (Carol) Capps of Mocksville, NC; one niece, Lisa Wike of Baker, MT; and one grandson, Michael Carroll of Greenfield.
Pallbearers to serve: Michael Carroll, Jack Walker, Walter Hazelwood, Glenn Jenkins, Troy Jenkins, Matt Barker, Kevin Box, and Josh Box.
