Ray Clements Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services on Feb. 23, 2026.
Ray Alan Clements, 71, of Black Mountain, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Born on July 4, 1954, in Buncombe County, NC, Ray was the son of Harry Eugene Clements, Sr. and Gertrude Clements. After a dedicated 50-year career, he retired from Kearfott, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. A faithful member of Lakey Gap Presbyterian Church, Ray found his greatest joy in the simple things: tending to his yard, fixing things around the house, and, above all, cherishing time with his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 52 years, Vivian Harris Clements; sons, Nathan Clements (Meredith) and Nolan Clements (Katie); sister, Brenda Beachboard; brothers, Gene Clements (Mae) and Lee Clements (Pam); and grandchildren, Emily Grace, Abigail Ray, and Sonny Shade Clements.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00am at Harwood Home for Funerals with Rev. Martin Payne and Rev. Owen Lovejoy officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Lakey Gap Presbyterian Church, PO Box 126, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
