William Ray Climer age 68 of Bells, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at his residence.
He was born April 22, 1955, in Humboldt to Hinton Wray Climer and Joan Cobb Climer. Mr. Climer graduated high school from Tennessee Academy in Brownsville and later received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a member of Bells First Baptist Church.
Though raised in Bells, he traveled with his job with FedEx for many years. As a senior manager, Mr. Climer was responsible for helping get the FedEX facility in Jackson and managed the location following. He retired after thirty faithful years with the company. He was an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers fan and enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Climer will be remembered as a fun and outgoing person and enjoyed being around and helping others.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Ray Climer and wife Jessica of Ohio; daughter, Meredith Climer of California; three sisters, Nancy Climer and husband Alton of West Nashville, Cathy Grant and husband Wes of Arizona and Kristin Hickman of Kentucky; Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Sammy Henderson, Rex Climer, Owen Cobb, Mike Cobb, Jack Burgess and Grover King. Michael King will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Climer will be conducted Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Bells First Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Foropoulos and Bro. Zac Hannaford officiating. Burial will follow in the Cobb estate of Belleview Cemetery. The Climer family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Bells First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Bell First Baptist Church Men's Ministry c/o Bells First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 206, Bells, TN 38006 or to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Mr. Climer.
