It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Jane (Blanton) Estes, beloved wife, mother, and friend. Martha was born on October 2, 1944, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late George and Marjorie Mae (Moore) Blanton. Martha passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home in Humboldt.
Martha grew up in Jackson, TN along with her siblings, George “Butch” Blanton and Nancy Ann (Blanton) Walker and was a graduate of Northside High School, class of 1962. She was also a graduate of West Tennessee Business College.
Martha worked for the Tennessee State Fire Marshals office in Jackson and in Memphis, TN. Later she spent many years as the church secretary at Central Avenue Christian Church, where she was known not only for her meticulous attention to detail but also for her warm smile and welcoming spirit. She touched the lives of many in her community in Humboldt, and her legacy of kindness and service will forever be remembered. She spent her life dedicated to her family, her work, and her faith. Until more recent years, she was an active member of The Church at Sugar Creek in Humboldt.
Martha is survived by her cherished husband of 59 years, James B. "Jack" Estes, Jr., and their devoted son, Jon Estes.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Wednesday, August 6, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Bro. Brent Pearce and Bro. Kenny Perry will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Martha's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting her spirit of giving.
