Ray Reid Craig, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2024. He was born November 23, 1940 to the late Rudy and Eva Craig. Ray is also preceded in passing by siblings, R.C. Craig, Curtis Craig, Thomas Craig, Jack Craig, Loma Wheeler, Georgia Green and Mary Lee Crump.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Craig of 62 years; sons Ronnie (Janice Freeman) and Jerry (Tania); grandsons Dakota, Dalton (Gracelyn), and Brandon (Mikayla Isaman); sisters-in-law Audie Love and Kelly Boling (Bobby) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray worked for Yale security for 32 years. He loved to rabbit hunt, fishing and going to yard sales. He loved sports and was a Duke fan. He coached the Cardinals little league baseball team for years. He loved watching his boys play ball and was very proud of each of them. He loved God and was a faithful servant. Ray will be missed by so many.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2613 Concord Highway, Monroe with Pastors Dac Croasman and Hank Parker to officiate. Interment will follow in Lucy Helms Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00-7:30 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe.
Ray's family would specially thank Hospice of Monroe and the Unionville Fire Department.
