Ray Lee D'Armond Sr., 95, died July 12, 2025 at Sunrise of Leawood Senior Living, in Leawood, KS. He was born on October 1, 1929 in Collinsville, OK, the son of Albert and Lucille (Palmberg) D’Armond.
Ray married Sue Dollard in Collinsville, OK in 1949 and they had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before Sue’s passing in 2014. After traveling the country working as a welder for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Ray and Sue settled in Lawrence, KS to raise their family, where he was a supervisor for Western Mechanical until retiring in 1995. After retirement, he and Sue moved to Cherokee Village, AR, where they lived until 2014.
Ray is survived by his daughter Joyce Neves and husband Mark of Olathe and son Ray, Jr. (Lee) of Collinsville. He is also survived by his sister Elnora Herron of Tulsa, OK, plus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren spread across the country. He was preceded in death by Sue, their daughter Barbara and a brother Albert, Jr. (Junior).
Ray loved painting, golf, woodworking, family and friends. He was always the first to say hello to his other residents at Sunrise and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
