Ray Jean Bashinski Flanagan was born September 5, 1940 in Houston, Texas, to Verna and
Clem Bashinski. Growing up, she was a devout catholic, attending mass regularly and going to
an all girls catholic private school. In her adulthood, she met a man from Henderson, Texas and
quickly fell in love. She married Rex Flanagan in 1963 and together they raised two sons,
Christopher Rex Flanagan and David Micheal Flanagan in Willis, Texas. While her work entailed
exceptional secretarial abilities and refining her incredible artistry, her truest passion in life was
being a mother and grandmother. She was a bright light in the lives of her loved ones, always
joyfully smiling and filling every room with her unforgettable laughter. We will never forget her
comforting food, unwavering support and valuable life lessons. Our hearts are weak with grief
accepting she is no longer physically with us, but we find peace in knowing she is finally
reunited with her Lord and Savior along with the family she has been waiting to see again. We
will spend our days talking about the blessing that she was and remember her in every Texas
sunset. She is preceded by her children, Christopher and David and their wives, Missy and Kim,
her 5 grandchildren, Keegan and his wife Camille, Jack and his wife Monica, Margaret and her
husband Laurens, Corey and Avery; her sisters Marcie and Bernadine and her brother, Leonard.
A private memorial will take place soon and invitations will be made as needed. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent Depaul of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Conroe, Texas. Her love will forever live in our hearts. And to live in the hearts of the ones she
left behind is not to die.
