Ray's Story Ray Larue Grant Sr. was born to Boston P. Grant II and Almeda Daniels-Grant, August 21, 1931, at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.
Ray grew up in San Marcos, Texas under the upbringing of his Grandmother Lizzie Grant. He professed his love for Christ at an early age, under her Methodist upbringing.
He graduated from the public schools of San Marcos, Texas. Ray moved to San Antonio in his early twenties and attended the community colleges in San Antonio and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Ray married the love of his life, Reba Pollard Grant in December 1960. To this union three children were born, Kevin (Dec) Jennifer (Dec) and Ray Larue Grant Jr.
Ray and Reba where loves of water and were avid fisherman and longtime supporters and members of the Floatilla Boating and Fishing Club.
Ray worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 36 years and retired in the early seventies. Ray was the only person certified to instruct the industrial engineering courses at Kelly. While at Kelly, he opened Grant Enterprises and Tax preparation office located on the cities east side, which continues to operate today
He joined Second Baptist in the early fifties, and served as chairman of the internal audit committee, assistant treasurer, member of the finance committee, and on the Community Center, Board of Directors.
Proceeding him in death, his parents, Boston, and Almeda Grant, brother Boston P. Grant III, sister Deloria Grant, two daughters, Jennifer, Rae Grant Conerly and Andrea Michelle Grant (Mickey), one son Kevin P. Grant Sr., and his loving wife Reba Pollard Grant.
His family always came first, he leads to cherish his memories. Daughter Debrah Williams (Houston), Son Ray Larue Grant, Jr. five grandchildren Chavon and Grant Williams (Houston), Kevin (Lil Kev), Kionna, and Anthony Grant, and five great grandchildren.
