Ray Pitcock Obituary
Born in Capen Bridge, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Raymond I. and Geraldine Leigh Pitcock. Ray moved to the area in the 1950s from Winchester, Virginia, and had made St. Johns County his home ever since.
Throughout his working career, Ray held a variety of jobs that reflected his strong work ethic and hands-on skill. He built shrimp boats for Desco Marine and St. Augustine Trawlers, delivered parts for a local auto parts store, and later owned and operated his own courier business. An avid sportsman, Ray especially loved to shoot and cherished time spent outdoors.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Peggy Pitcock of Hastings; his sons, Chris Allen of The Hammock, and Chad Allen (Lynn) and Allen Pitcock (Melissa), both of Hastings; his sisters, Gretchen Burks of St. Augustine and Jackie Rice of Vilano; along with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Victory Preparatory School, 110 Masters Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084, on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, from 11AM to 2PM. Please dress casual - holiday sweaters and favorite Christmas outfits are encouraged!
St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
