Raymond L. Shimek

Raymond L Shimek, 80, of Sarona, passed away on October 30, 2025, at Dove Healthcare. He was born September 17, 1945, in Sarona, WI, to Frank and Mary (Wenzel) Shimek.

Ray was a man of many names, with "Model A. Ray", "Jumper" and "Otto Schmidlapper" being just a few. He loved joining in the various parades sporting his collection of classic Fords, with the Model A being at the top.

He attended numerous car shows and swap meets during the summer. In the winter, he could be found in his Carppie Jalopy on local lakes ice fishing. Ray also enjoyed hunting, especially during Thanksgiving.

Left to remember his memory are loved ones Linda Page, Lori Page, Norman Page Jr., Justin Page, Timothy Page, Abigail Haldorson; and many other friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: John and Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Nov 8, 2025, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Papi Reddy Yeruva officiating. Burial will be in Sarona Cemetery. Military honors accorded by the Shell Lake Honor Guard and the Wisconsin Military Honors Team. Visitation will be from 1 hour before the Mass at the church.
