Ray Stogner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 25, 2026.
Ray Alan Stogner passed away peacefully on February 16th, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marjorie Hutchins Stogner; two brothers; Ralph Stogner, wife Jay and Gary Stogner, wife Kathy; daughter, Trista Paton, husband Craig; son, Kevin Stogner; step daughter, Amanda Pirkle, husband James; and step sons, Michael Appling, wife Teresa and Matthew Appling, partner Lucca. He also has 8 grandchildren: Collin, Bryce, Hunter, Harry, Gavin, Michael III, Nate, and Marilyn,..which were the lights of his life.

Ray was born in Milford, Delaware on September 20th, 1947. Growing up in Vero Beach, Florida in high school he was a member of the Key Club, Varsity Club, Math Club, Sergeant at Arms, and National Honor Society. He also played football and track during his high school years. After graduation in 1965 he attended Georgia Tech until he joined the Navy in 1967 to serve his country in the Vietnam War. After his service he began a long career as a Mechanical Piping Draftsman in Georgia.

As a child he battled polio and won, later in life he battled cancer and won. He was a true patriot of his county, loved all sports, mostly football and fishing, traveling especially his trips with his brothers to Oklahoma for the Greencorn Festival, always made you laugh, and most of all he loved his family deeply. Everyone who knew him loved him!
