Ray Wells Obituary
Medicine Lodge - Ray Dean Wells, 76, passed away on January 30, 2026 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1949 in Plainville to Clarence and Royalynn (Lumpkins) Wells. Ray married Barbara (Hall) Wells on July 4, 2009. They were married for 16 years.
Ray graduated from Plainville High School in 1967. He worked as a water truck driver for Clark Corporation for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69, American Legion Riders and Wells Gang. He enjoyed painting cars, riding his chopper, driving the water truck, telling stories, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Jim (Paula) Wells, Mitch (Mellissa) Wells, Jason Prevo and Chuck (Danielle) Elkin; daughter, Adela Hollingsworth; brother, Rusty (Vickie) Wells; sister, Joanne (Corey) Johnson; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Wells and Royalynn Nelson; daughter, Jeanette Wells; and son, Stoney Wells.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m., March 6, 2026 at the Medicine Lodge American Legion.
Memorials may be made to Larrison Funeral Home in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS. 67104. Online condolences may be made at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
