Ray E. Zanni, aged 80, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. He was born on September 28, 1945, to Aldo and Irene (nèe Reckerd) Zanni in Hillsboro, Illinois. He married Cheri Medlin in Springfield, Illinois, on April 29, 1995.
Ray worked for Horace Mann in Springfield, Illinois, as security for many years before retiring.
Ray is survived by his wife, Cheri; his children, Jason (Carrie) Zanni and Melissa (Jason) Wood; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held per Ray's family's request.
